Madeline Sports a Cool Evel Knievel Shirt

MINI always has neat ads. One of them recently was an iron-on patch of Evel Knievel, who we all remember from growing up, and a MINI. She seems to have liked it but the outfit only lasted for a few hours -- until it was headed for the laundry.

Madeline Goes to the Beach!

Madeline visited Long Beach Island for the first time and liked it a lot. The sound of the waves sent her right off to sleep and the beach atmosphere made her smile for the first time!

New Baby Pictures

Madeline just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Thankfully she is sleeping more and more.

One Month Checkup

Madeline had her one month checkup a few days early. It's hard to believe it's been that long already! Anyway, she now weighs 7lbs, 4oz which is up from 6lbs 9oz a couple of weeks ago. And she is 20 1/2 inches long, up from 20 inches long at birth. We're right on track!

CMV Update

One of the big risks with CMV is retinitis which can progress to blindness and/or severe visual impairment. They did not give Madeline a vision test in the hospital and instead recommended one once she went home. Well, the big test was today and the news was GOOD! She has no retinal problems that can be detected at this point in time. They recommend another test at 6 months of age but believe that any problem would have been detectable by now. So, another HUGE sigh or relief for the family. The only major concern now, that we know of, is hearing. And we'll have those tests for quite awhile. But this was a big victory today! :-)
