HELIX MINISPORTS / P&D PULLEY INSTALLATION PICTURES

On March 7, 2003, I stopped by Helix MINISports for the installation of a 15% smaller pulley for the supercharger on my 2002 MINI Cooper S. It took just a few hours and you can really feel the increase in power across the whole range of RPMs. I highly recommend it! Check out all of the pictures here. This modification provides a gain of approximately 13.7 hp at the wheels (16.12 at the crank) and 14.6 ft. lbs. of torque at the wheels (17.18 at the crank). That basically takes a car from stock 163 hp to modified 179 hp and 155 ft. lbs. torque stock to modified 172 ft. lbs. torque.

Here are some pics from my old website from the NASA track event at Lime Rock Park. Check them all out here on my site and be sure to download the movie (5.7MB)!! For the record, this wreck occured on the first or second lap of day, meaning cold tires and a cold track surface. The driver started pushing too fast, too soon and by his own admission he 'froze up' when he felt the back end get loose. Live and learn.

LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH CRASHES IN MY BACKYARD

That's right, folks, you read that headline correctly! I lived in Valley Forge with some friends back in 1999 when one day we heard this great engine sound coming up Jug Hollow Road. Then we heard a skid and some wood snapping. Lo and hehold, we found a 25th Anniversary Edition Lamborghini Countach up to the doorsills in mud in the middle of our backyard. It was piloted by near neighbor and former racecar driver, Ed Arnold. Ed owns and operates Arnold's Go Kart Center near King of Prussia, PA. Check out the pictures here.
